Hydraulic accumulators

Hydraulic accumulators, also known as hydropneumatic accumulators or pressure accumulators, are used in hydraulic systems to maintain fluid pressure, store and recapture fluid energy, reduce pressure peaks, power chassis suspensions, and dampen shock, vibration and pulsations. Most common fluid hydro-pneumatic accumulators are used with is hydraulic oil.

Under precharge pressure (nitrogen gas), the hydraulic accumulator stores a volume of fluid that can be re-fed into the hydraulic circuit when it is needed. With a rise in pressure within the hydraulic system, the hydro-pneumatic accumulator collects the pressure fluid and the gas is compressed. If system pressure falls, the compressed gas expands again and forces the stored fluid into the hydraulic circuit. The hydropneumatic accumulator guarantees a fast reaction in case of pressure drop.

Bladder accumulators

Bladder accumulators are the bigger ones, typically from 4 liter up to 50 liter, with fluid operating pressure up 330/350 bar. The NBR bladder allows an operating temperature from -15°C up to +80°C. A bladder accumulator can be precharged through the gas valve 7/8-14UNF. Bladder accumulators can be repaired with bladder repair kits, which we have available in stock.
